Andy Lewis 2012: Why I couldn't go on tour with Madonna.
Andy Lewis, the "slackliner" Madonna presented to the world during his epic half-time show at the Super Bowl XLVI was invited to participate in the MDNA Tour but turned down the offer.
Lewis explains why rejection live to the maximum the MDNA experience for one year through a letter and a video: "while he was dressed in a toga, the amount of energy given to the sport of the slacklining through 30 seconds of the half-time show was crazy. The world of slacklining was waiting for his chance to show his face. I appreciate the opportunity that Madonna has given me forever. 5 Years ago never thought that I would be writing: "I love Madonna". He invited me to his show, showed me how to carry it out, she told me how to live my dreams. Together with a group of friends, all could be part of the halftime show. The biggest spectacle seen in the history of television, and I got to the front and center of the stage with my Slackline and me kissed Madonna.
The idea of the world tour was always in mind. Would I be the person who could do it? Might you have the strength? In recent months I have had to think about it. A chance at the big time. An opportunity to perhaps make music. The guitar live with Madonna. Create a piece of Slackline and choreography. Highlining, fire, hanging from ropes. Honestly, you could have convinced Madonna that let me do something crazy. Learn to dance, and be a professional dancer. Say that I had so many opportunities they would stem from the tour would be ridiculous. But I would have to travel for a year, being away from home, my girlfriend, my friends, the fresh air, open spaces, my projects, silence, my jumps, my bed... and to be a year of touring, everything would be sacrificed, replace them with hotels, airplanes, buses, crowds, culture, fame, work, travel contacts and a great paycheck each week. So you would have to sacrifice my freedom for an entire year... I think that it wasn't worth. "The next day I woke up and refused the offer, the money I offered such as advance payment, a long list of benefits and VIP status everywhere... a few days later flew back to Moab to live slacklife."

Bruce Springsteen, Roger Waters round out the top three
Madonna shows little sign of waning, at least at the cashbox. According to Pollstar, the Material Girl was the runaway leader in concert grosses for calendar year 2012, taking in $296.1 million. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band took the number two spot with $210.2 million. Like Madonna, Springsteen played to more than two million fans this year.
Also making bank was Roger Waters, who brought in $186.4 million, good for third place. Coldplay, Lady Gaga and Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson: The Immortal tour were the only other acts to gross over $100 million for the year. Overall, the year's top 50 tours grossed about $3 billion combined, down two percent from $3.07 billion last year.
Pollstar's list reflects similarities with Billboard's recently announced list of top earners, which ranks tours from November 9th, 2011 to November 13th, 2012. Rounding out Pollstar's top 10: Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw, Metallica, Elton John and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Paul McCartney just missed the top 10, grossing $56.9 million for the year.

Truth or Dare by Madonna
Truth or Dare by Madonna is a lifestyle brand by American recording artist Madonna. It is the second enterprise from MG Icon LLC, a joint venture between Madonna, her manager Guy Oseary and Iconix Brand Group. This is the second brand from the venture after Material Girl, which is a fashion line designed by Madonna and her daughter Lourdes and launched in 2010. Initially the line will be launched with handbags, footwear, accessories, intimates and fragrances.
The first product to be released will be a fragrance of the same name, released by Coty, Inc. and is due to launch in the United States in April 2012 exclusively to Macy's departmental stores (who also exclusively sold "Material Girl" in the United States), and globally in May 2012. The brand's primary demographic is women in the age range of 27–50 and its commodities would include a variety of apparel. In March 2012, the second product, women's footwear was announced to be launched in the fall of 2012 in association with ALDO Group.
Madonna's main inspiration behind the perfume was her mother, since her perfume's smell had always been cherished by the singer. She wanted to create a contemporary version of her mother's fragrance, and collaborated with perfume maker Stephen Nilsen. A promotional campaign was announced for the release, with Madonna to be featured in print-ads, television, and online marketing campaign. The singer would collaborate with Fabien Baron on the promotional activities; Baron had worked with Madonna on her 1992 coffee table book, Sex. To deliver the perfume to beauty editors, Madonna enlisted two handsome male models for the job. This was followed by the first advertisement for the fragrance, illustrating an image of the singer from her 2010 photoshoot with Interview magazine.
In December 2012, a second fragrance was announced, Truth or Dare by Madonna: Naked. The press ad campaign featured a naked image of Madonna with a back banner across her breasts with the words "Naked - a new fragrance" on it.
In November 2011, Madonna announced plans of launching her own global lifestyle brand, called Truth or Dare by Madonna; it is her second lifestyle brand following Material Girl with her daughter Lourdes. The architect of the brand is "MG Icon" which is a joint venture between Iconix Brand Group Inc., Madonna and her manager Guy Oseary. The chief executive officer of Iconix Brand Group, Neil Cole, felt that there is enough interest behind fashion brands introduced by Madonna. Drawing the example of the Material Girl brand—which was already a commercial success—Cole believed that there would be high demand for a brand that is endoresed solely by Madonna. Truth or Dare would be initially launched with handbags, footwear, accessories, intimates and fragrances. Since the Material Girl clothing was aimed at teenagers, Madonna's targe for the brand was women in the age range of 27–50. In an interview with Women's Wear Daily, Madonna stated her inspiration behind the name Truth or Dare:
Over the past several years, I have been approached countless times to create my own brand. The timing is right and I have found great partners in Iconix, who can help translate my vision to reality. I have always been obsessed by fragrance and for years wanted to create something personal that was an expression of me but that other people could relate to as well. Something honest, and yet daring, hence the name Truth or Dare
